The outer reaches of Brooklyn consist of a flat coastal plain laced with tidal creeks and wetlands, and carpeted with early to late 20th century dwellings.

Oasis Architecture was retained by the owners of what was a generic double-decker 2-family dwelling, to assist in the conversion to a gracious residence. The two flat was picked clean to the bone, and additions were added to the side and rear, for a 2-story L-shaped configuration wrapping around a private garden.

The overall envelope was then clad in clay roofing tile, brick and stucco, with a carved limestone entry surround, evoking the architecture of the Mediterranean Basin.
